The Snapper Cat was adopted from the SPCA in January 1999. Then, he was about a year old, and called Sooty. He had been living in a cage at the SPCA since he was a little kitten. He was renamed Snapper for a variety of reasons:
1) We had just finished reading a book by Roddy Doyle called "The Snapper". Snapper being coloquial Irish for a baby.
2) Snapper is a tasty Bermuda fish.
3) The name was also apt because he likes to bite people's fingers when he plays.
He also likes ripping up paper and kitchen roll, which means the Webber living room often looks like a snow scene.
